UPSC or the Union Public Service Commission has announced multiple vacancies for the upcoming Engineering Service Examination (ESE) for the Indian Engineering Services (IES). Eligibility Criteria for ESE IES Exam 2022
Nationality:
Candidates must be citizens of India. However, citizens of the following countries are also eligible:
- Subjects of Nepal/Bhutan
- Tibetan Refugees who settled in India since 1 January 1962
- Indian origin individuals (settled permanently in India) who migrated from the following countries:
- Pakistan
- Myanmar
- Sri Lanka
- Vietnam
- East Africa Countries (United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zaire)
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must fulfil the following requisite educational qualifications:
- Have an Engineering degree from a government-recognized institution.
- Passed Sections A and B of the institution examinations of the Institution of Engineers in India.
OR
- Passed the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers in India.
OR
- Passed parts I and II/sections A and B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Aeronautical Society of India.
OR
- Passed the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers in London.
Age Limit (as of 1 January 2022):
- Lower Age Limit: 21 years
- Upper Age Limit: 30 years

How to Apply for ESE IES Exam 2022
- Visit the official website of UPSC.
