TISSNET ENTRANCE TEST 2021 eligibility criteria, syllabus, exam pattern, study plan, vacancies, salary, and more


TISSNET 2022 is a national-level postgraduate entrance examination conducted by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, for admission into its campus & affiliated institutes. The flagship program for admission through TISSNET 2022 is TISS Mumbai's MA in Human Resource Management & Labor Relations. Under the flagship TISS brand, 21 schools & 45 centres are running at present. TISS is ranked on the 34th position in the "All University" category and 57th in the overall sort by MHRD NIRF 2021.

TISSNET 2022 exam is expected to be conducted in February 2022, just like last year, in a non-adaptive online CBT (computer-based) mode.

However, the official notification of TISSNET 2022 has not been released; check the official website to stay updated.

TISS 2022 eligibility criteria are among the most important things a candidate needs to recognize before filling up the registration form for TISSNET 2022. Once you enrol for the examination, your eligibility is decided based on the details given by you in your application form. Given below is the Eligibility Criteria of TISSNET 2022:

GraduationCandidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree (under the 10+2+3 / 10+2+4- / 10+2+2+1-year bridge course pattern or any pattern suggesting completing 15 years formal education) from a recognized university in any stream. Final year candidates are also eligible to apply; they will be required to furnish the documents of having completed all the requirements of the final year by the second week of June 2021 (tentative). Candidates in their last year who possess backlogs in the first & the second year of graduation (If it is a 3-year course) or first, the second & third year of graduation (if it is a 4-year course) will also be considered ineligible to sit for TISSNET 2022. Candidates who have an overall FF grade (fail) cannot appear for TISSNET 2022 until they don't clear their graduation on the very day of applying for any of their programmes.

Minimum AggregateNo minimum graduation percentage criteria for TISSNET 2022. However, candidates attempting admission into LLM must have a qualified LLB degree with a total of 50%.

TISS Admission 2022 Applicants may apply online at the Institute's website. For the candidates living in remote parts of the country where internet facilities do not exist, they can obtain a hard copy of the application form for admission directly from the Institute.


TISSNET 2022 Admit card will be accessible from the first week of February 2022. Registered candidates will be able to download the admit card from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences official website by using their login credentials created at the time of registration. Candidates who will be shortlisted based on TISSNET 2022 score will download the TISSMAT 2022 admit card in May 2022. The previous year, due to the pandemic COVID-19, TISSMAT was cancelled.

TISS governs the TISSNET Selection Process. The TISS Selection procedure consists of two stages with three components for final selection.

The TISS National Entrance Test is a written exam to shortlist the candidates for the second stage, i.e. TISSPAT/TISS MET round and interview. The TISSNET score will only be used to select candidates for the next round and will not be added for the final selection.


TISSNET 2022 Examination Pattern will consist of three sections - English Proficiency, General Awareness and Mathematics & Logical Reasoning. There will be an individual sectional cut-off in TISSNET for the GK section. To qualify for the next selection stage, process candidates need to meet both the cut-off for the GK section and the overall cut-off. Although there is no prescribed syllabus for TISSNET, we have listed down the relevant topics that you should cover based on the last few years' TISSNET papers.

The TISSNET 2022 Result will be announced online on 4th February 2022. Candidate can check their result by entering their email id & password. After that, the candidate must download the result and take a printout of it.


TISSNET Cut-off are of two types. The first one is the cut-off for the TISSNET written exam, which selects candidates for the further rounds. The second one is the final TISSNET cut-off as per different programmes. Each Programme has a different cut-off.

The level of difficulty of TISSNET is easy to moderate. Among all the sections in the paper, the general awareness section is regarded most difficult as it also carries the highest weightage of 40%. Questions from the English Proficiency section were the easiest amongst all the sections, and the General Awareness section was quite tricky.

  • According to a survey, almost 65-70% of the candidates found the General Awareness section to be the toughest amongst all other sections.
  • The candidates also claimed the exam to be more challenging than last year.
