EXAM ANALYSIS:
NMAT has a moderate difficulty level compared to the general entrance tests like CAT, XAT, etc. However, since the exam setup changed from computer-based to a computer-adaptive last year, NMAT is perceived as slightly more difficult by the candidates. While there were minute sectional variations among different sessions of NMAT 2021, the overall opinion remained more or less the same as the former year.
Language Skills – Analysis
According to the 2019 NMAT analysis, the Language section was a mix of easy & tricky questions, with three RC passages of medium difficulty. The passages were a little time-consuming & their questions mainly focus on the central idea. Other questions were based on vocabulary, para jumbles, Fill in the blanks, sentence correction, analogies, etc. These questions were relatively simple and doable.
Quantitative Skills – Analysis
According to the 2019 NMAT analysis, the Quant segment comprised manageable and straightforward questions, emphasising arithmetic and modern math. There were also three complex sets of DI, contributing about 30% to the entire section. Since the exam was adaptive, DI sets varied in the type of graphs & charts. Moreover, there were also a few questions about geometry. Algebra was nearly absent in the section.
Logical Reasoning – Analysis
According to the 2019 NMAT analysis, the LR section was equally focused on verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Verbal reasoning questions were from critical reasoning, decision making, syllogism, assumption-conclusion etc. On the other hand, non-verbal reasoning questions were based on Venn diagrams, puzzles, sequential output, etc. LR questions appeared in both standalone & set formats.
Colleges:
The NMAT by GMAC score is affirmed by a wide range of B-schools. Candidates who attempt NMAT open doors of many colleges for MBA programs.
