The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) is a public service body under the government of Madhya Pradesh which conducts The State Service Examination every year to recruit officers into state Services. The MPPSC has released 235 vacancies for the State Services and 111 vacancies for State Forest Services, including Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Assistant Conservator of Forest & Forest Ranger, etc., for the year 2021.
According to the latest notification released by The MPPSC dated 02/06/2021, the MPPSC will conduct the preliminary exam for state services on 25th July 2021.

Eligibility Criteria for MPPSC Exam 2021
Educational qualification -
A graduate from any university recognized by the state of Madhya Pradesh or the government of India is eligible to apply for the MPPSC examination 2021.
Students in their final year of graduation can also apply for the MPPSC examination.
Age- AS OF 01/01/2021
Non-combatised posts - eligible age group is 21 - 40 years.
Combatised posts - eligible age group is 21 - 33 years.

Job Profile
SDM/Deputy Collector: Deputy Collector is the second in command officer in a district after District Magistrate and assists him in day-to-day functioning related to matters of Law and Order, Revenue and General Administration.
Deputy Superintendent of Police: DSP is aware of work in the police department under the state home ministry. DSPs are in charge of sub-divisions and work under the Superintendent of Police, and they must keep him informed regarding any situation that needs his attention. Apart from this, a DSP must fulfil all functions relating to Law and order and any other duties assigned by the SP.
Assistant Director in the School Education and Public Relations Departments: They are responsible for providing leadership and ensuring the implementation of government schemes in their departments. Being an assistant director in state services, you will advise the government on improvements in those sectors and be responsible for implementing policies.
Superintendent, District Jail The Superintendent of District Jail is responsible for managing the prisons in matters like Expenditure, punishments, discipline, labour etc. They must daily inspect the prison and ensure the proper maintenance of the jail infrastructure. He is also in charge of the financial administration of jail.
Naib Tehsildar As a naib tehsildar, you will enjoy the executive magistrate, assistant collector, and sub-registrar powers. Under revenue duties, Tehsildar will oversee tehsil revenue and maintain revenue records in your tehsil. Tehsildars are also enabled to hear petition cases and make allotment or transfer properties in such cases.

Preparation Tips for MPPSC Exam 2021
- Previous years question papers - link to last year's papers of MPPSC State Service Examination (Prelims and mains) are given further below in the article. Solve these papers to get an idea of the pattern and type of questions.
- For general awareness, make a habit of reading newspapers every day. The Hindu and Indian Express are recommended. Make a note of important events as you go.
- For social sciences, refer to NCERT textbooks as the topics are given in concise points.
- Essay Writing - Before tackling an article, make a note of points you want to include in your report. Practise writing essays as you have to complete the rest of the questions in the stipulated time.
- Take up mock tests to assess your level of preparation. It gives you a chance to work on areas in which you are lagging and improve the efficiency of your practice. Solving online mock tests will also help with time management skills.
- For the Interview, Improve your speaking skills. Practice well structured and engaging answers to common questions about yourself like your motivation behind taking up the exam, your aim in life, etc.
Study Plan for MPPSC Exam 2021
Syllabus: Covering all the topics in the syllabus is very important. The list is your guide. Keep the list of topics always with you and cross off the items on the list as you proceed.
Making notes: make notes as you proceed through the list. These notes should be crisp and to the point. Include mindmaps and flowcharts wherever appropriate. Use these notes for revision.
Practice: Questions on general English, history, geography, politics etc., are usually repetitive. Solve old question papers and get plenty of course with such questions.
Revision: dedicate the last five days before the exam to go through your notes and practise more questions.
