  • Solve plenty of previous years papers and mock tests.
  • Students generally tend to ignore general papers. Do not make that mistake.
  • Many toppers claim that reading a monthly magazine for current affairs is more efficient than going through newspapers. There are many monthly current affairs magazines such as Civil Services Times, Economic and Political Weekly, VisionIAS etc., to help you with your preparation.
  • For Economics papers, reading specialised newspapers like Business Standard and The Mint Magazine is advised. You could benefit a lot from watching opinionated discussions, debates and talks. In Indian Economics, focus on contemporary issues.
  • For Statistics papers, practising all types of questions is very important. For objective type questions, follow the elimination method - eliminate the least likely options and only attempt those questions whose answer you know. Remember, there is a negative marking for wrong answers.
